Tomorrow Is Mine

Bren Domingo Revisited

Episode Summary

I launched Tomorrow Is Mine during the lockdown in 2020 because so many international students were feeling isolated and concerned about the uncertainty of their lives, and I wanted to give them the opportunity to share their stories as a means of staying connected within their community, as well as being able to share their experiences with friends and family back home in the far flung corners of the world. What really amazed me was the incredible personal journeys many of these students had undertaken to follow their dreams and the candid honesty in the way they opened up about their lives. Over the Australian summer while our students have been on holiday I've been revisiting some of the more remarkable stories they've shared - stories that are enlightening, heart warming and sometimes even heart breaking, but always life affirming. Bren Domingo featured on the very first show. I asked Bren to do it not only because she had an incredible story to share, but because she had gone from being a rebellious teenager to an exemplary leader and mentor to so many, held in high regard by students and academics alike. When I published that first episode back in May, one of the Griffith University staff posted “Bren Domingo is an absolute legend!” I couldn’t agree more.
