Have you ever doubted your ability to pursue a goal that you thought was unattainable? If you have then this story is for you. Cathryn Hackett, or just Cat, as likes to be known, grew up in very humble surroundings in suburban Logan, just north of the Gold Coast. While Cat has worked in the healthcare industry almost all her adult life it was only recently that she dared to dream of becoming a nurse. One of Cat’s stumbling blocks was that she felt she wasn’t cut out for university - that was the kind of place where other people went to pursue their careers. But after some encouraging advice and a little prodding from an ophthalmologist, Cat suddenly found herself enrolled within one of the most reputable nursing faculties in the world at Griffith University.
